2020

Welcome and thank you for considering to enrol at Bay Of Islands College.

Bay of Islands College is one of the eight schools in the Kaikohekohe Education Trust which focuses on digital learning through the individualised use of student’s own chromebook. We follow the Learn, Create and Share programme. Each subject teacher has a class website where all of your learning resources will be held. You can access all of the class sites on our school website.

In 2020 all Year 9-12 students will need their own Chromebooks for learning. If you attended a school that is one of the schools from the Kaikohekohe or Manaiakalani Cluster you will be able to bring your Chromebook with you.  It will however need to be configured for our school domain so that you can access all of the required learning apps. Drop your Chromebook into the school office as soon as possible and it will be returned to you within 1-2 days.

If you do not have a Chromebook you will need to order one at the main office. Chromebooks can be paid for outright or paid off over one, two or three years. More information is available from the main office. PLEASE NOTE:  Chromebooks bought at Noel Leemings or any other outside provider may not have the specifications suitable for our school. A Chromebook  purchased via our school or your previous school will include a carry case, technical support and insurance ($50 excess). For more information and order forms please click on the Manaiakalani tab on the website homepage or the following link: Chromebook Introduction Letter

Yr 9 Enrolment Pack 2020

We welcome all new Year 9 students to our school, its going to be an exciting year for your student. Being a year 9 student is a bridge from year 8 into college years. We encourage enrollment as soon as possible so that Bay of Islands College personnel can consult with the year 8 teacher to assist in your child’s placement. We look forward to welcoming students to a full year of academic, cultural and sporting promises. Click here for Yr 9 General Information Guide 2020 and Yr 9 Curriculum Book 2020

Yr 10 Enrolment Pack 2020

We welcome all new Year 10 students to the Bay of Islands College community. If enrollments are left too late it becomes virtually impossible to design the most effective timetable for your child/ren as we are unaware of class sizes and what options students have chosen. We operate a ‘first come, first served’ philosophy for option selection. Those who leave their enrollments until very late could find that their option choices become very limited as the more “popular” choices have been closed as they are full.   Please have a copy of your birth certificate and your last year’s report with you for your entry interview.    Your Dean will be sending an information request to your previous school prior to your entry. Bay of Islands College personnel will consult with your teachers either from Year 9 or at your previous school to assist in your child’s placement. We look forward to welcoming students in to a full year of academic, cultural and sporting promises. Click here for Yr 10 General School Information Guide 2020  and Yr 10 Curriculum Book 2020
